STRATEGY TEST LISTENING


STATEGI DALAM MENJAWAB SOAL LISTENING TEST TOEFL DENGAN BENAR

TOEFL Test is a requirement to dentermine a person’s ability to speak English and those who want to work abroad. In the TOEFL test is the first thing you work on the problems facing the listening comprehension (listening and understanding), this tes is an assessment of the ability to speak English conversation hearing test.

Parts of the Listening Comprehension Test , consisting of :

Part I : Photographs – Picture
In this section , you will see the pictures and then asked to choose the sentence that best describes the picture .

Strategies required in Part I , namely :

1.      The ability to capture images quickly.

2.      Ability to understand verbal and compare with what is seen in the picture .

3.      Try it with a distinctive technique of sound (sound confusion ) and discrete categories . Some sentences had nothing to do with the image .

4.      Do not ever answer before I finished reading the statement part of all . When the statement is read , place the tip of the pencil on the answer questioned , if you think it's the best answer . Do the same on the question.

 
Part II : SHORT DIALOGUE
In this section , there will be a short conversation between two people . After the conversation , the question relating to the conversation will be provided . Both the conversation and the questions will not be repeated . In this case you need to use short-term memory is fine .

Strategy to look out for are :

1.      Listen carefully discussed question .

2.      Do not ever be fooled by questions and answers which sounds similar to the word in question .

3.      Do not panic and doubt , just choose the response / answer that you feel is most reasonable for this question .


 

Part III: LONG CONVERSATION
In this section, you will hear a monologue and then got a question about it. What should you do more or less the same as in the previous section, but you need to be more careful in listening and attention to detail information context.

The best strategy :

1.      Listen and focus on the speaker to hear the dialogue.

2.      Ability to distinguish the types of questions orally (information question, yes no question, alternative question, suggestion offers etc). The ability to know the response according to the type of question.

3.      Try to identify the type of question. Correct response usually depends on the type of question asked.

4.      The ability to distinguish words that sound almost the same. Tactics to work on the problems in this section.

(C) Taking a trip to the mountains

(D) Putting some pictures on the wall

2.      (narrator) How many pictures are there?

(A) One

(B) Two

(C) Three

(D) Four

3.      (narrator) Where is the picture of the womans family going?

(A) in the fireplace

(B) Above the sofa

(C) Home with Walt

(D) To the top of the mountain

4.      (narrator) What is Walt probably going to do next?

(A) Sit on the sofa

(B) Photograph Monicas family

(C) Hammer the nails into the walls

(D) Climb the walls



Part IV: TALK
In this section, there will be some talks with a duration of about 60-90 seconds of the life of the school or college, each followed by multiple choice questions.

The strategy is:

1.      Try to read the questions before the monologue is played, and listen carefully read the conversation.

2.      Determine the question words are used, what is being asked, whether; what, who, when, why, where, how, how long, etc. By knowing what to ask, you can focus in seeking information from the monologue.

3.      Beware the conversation first sentences which usually becomes a topic for the next sentences.

4.      Try to imagine, the setting of the monologue. This will help you in making an analysis of who is speaking, where the monologue was read, for whom it is intended and monologue for what purposes.

In general strategy is needed in working out the TOEFL test , among other things :

1.      Understand and focus command forms in question on any part of the question .

Read the answer choices before listening to the conversation or before the conversation begins . By reading the answer choices will help us better understand the content of the test .

2.      Concentrate and focus on the conversation and speeches carefully and cautiously . We have to fully concentrate on what is being discussed as conversations and speeches perdengarkan only once.

3.      Usually the answer to the question is often found in the second voice in a brief conversation . Thus focus on the second vote .

4.      Use the remaining time to read the question. When we finished answering questions and still have the rest of the time , try to read and see a selection of answers to the next question .

5.      We must be familiar with the test instructions / test direction . Direction or guidance for each TOEFL test must be the same everywhere . So when we do the Listening

6.      Comprehension section , you do not need to always listen to direction or instructions that are read by the narrator . For that we should already be familiar with and understand the instructions before carrying out tests TOEFL Test .
